Visit to the Watchtowers

Back Forwards

If you look at the profile of the Oropesa del Mar coast on its north side you will find a smooth and uniform coastline, easy to control visually. It is not the same if you look to the south where the Renegá area is, with its small coves and rugged relief.

The "colomera" towers or watchtowers were built to help the King's Tower in the surveillance tasks increasing the control over the coast.

Today, now with no strategic value, they are still a reference point where you can experience juxtaposed sensations of the breeze and the sea, perfect music to observe the architecture of nature over incredibly shaped native vegetation.
