The Old Prison
The old prison is currently a room dependent on the Oropesa del Mar Museum, and it is a space with great heritage and historical value. It was built attached to the wall with which Oropesa was fortified in the 17th century with the aim of protecting itself from the continuous attacks that Oropesa suffered as it was located on a strategic mound between the Mediterranean Sea and the land communication route.
Inside the visitor will be able to know how Justice was imparted in the Middle Ages and in the Modern Age how were penalties, crimes, judicial processes and prisons. In short, the conditions in which the prisoners were in the Oropesa prison.
